Idkif you saw my other replies on why they’re racist. There are 5 stereotypes used in the black media, each one is a form of a racial slur.Blackface is offensive because it was the beginning of these stereotypes. Which effects black people to thisday

ok, so it’s never okay to alter your skin tone…Latino’s are more tan than caucasian people…should we all stop tanning then?
have you been reading any of the messages? it’s not okay to alter your skintone to look like a different race so you can play dress up for a little while. if you like to tan just because it’s a personal preference, than be my fucking guest but like i said before, a person’s race is not your fucking costume.

it’s not as if being white will make you unrecognizable as those characters like i’m pretty sure anyone who knows who jasmine or tiana are will know that if i walk up in the club wearing jasmine’s outfit or tiana’s gown, they will know exactly who i’m trying to look like

bless u anon
especially when the person telling you it’s racist is actually of the race you’re offending you should listen, like how is there even a debate about that?
“i, as a white person, think that my opinions of what is harmful to poc are more important than yours, as a poc, are.” like ????? how do logic

intent has little to no effect on how an action is perceived. regardless of whether it’s INTENDED to be offensive, it STILL IS offensive. if someone walked up and punched u in the face and then was like AW MAN IT WAS A JOKE!!! doesn’t fix it.
yeah and in my own experience (since y’all seem to think i have to have experienced it firsthand to know that it’s offensive) when people say shit like “oh you’re so pansexual pans are so sexy to you ooooh u like those stainless steel handles yeah u like that baby” i get that they’re joking, i get that they’re not trying to hurt me, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t hurtful.

blackface is offensive for the same reason that having a black woman wearing a collar on a tv show set in modern times is offensive (i’m looking at you, supernatural!). because there is a negative, racist history there that cannot be erased, it’s inappropriate.
edit: also just because you aren’t trying to be offensive doesn’t mean you’re not being offensive. i’m sure disney wasn’t trying to be offensive with the many racist stereotypes they’ve included in their films, but at the end of the day, it was still racist and it was still offensive.

sarapunzel replied to your post: Wait so with your answer to the supernatural anon,…
no ur right we watch the show so we can drain the white man’s life force from them to feed our liberal vampirism
i mean is there anyone who doesn’t watch the show for that
